Valeria Knapp, 183X - 1914

Valeria (Vallie) Knapp wed John Holly Knapp in 1855, they moved from Iowa to Menomonie, Wisconsin in 1863. Together they had seven children. Valeria was the housewife of the Knapp estate and always found time to be active in her church. In 1898 Valeria was elected Church Deaconess. She made their home a social center and hosted many Congregational gatherings and dinner parties.
Valeria's 1874 diary is an account of a her trip to the southern regions of the United States as she sought a cure for John Holly's skin cancer affliction.
